Keynote: Giving Control Back to Consumers with Open Federated Virtual Assistants #

Prof. Monica Lam was invited to give a keynote at HiPEAC 2019, one of the premier international academic conferences for computer systems and computer architectures.

The keynote addressed the rise of proprietary virtual assistants, and the risk they present to consumer privacy and open competition in the industry. In response to this threat, we presented Almond, our open-source, privacy-aware federated solution.

The slides for the keynote are now available. You can also read the press release from HiPEAC here.

Update: the keynote is now available on YouTube.
