NSF Grant: Autonomy and Privacy with Open Federated Virtual Assistants #

We are excited to announce that we have received a research grant from the National Science Foundation on our project "Autonomy and privacy with federated virtual assistants". The goal is to make natural language technology publicly available, create an open skill platform available to all assistants, and to have protect privacy with open and distributed assistants.

The project is a collaboration of 8 Stanford professors: Monica Lam, Michael Bernstein, Dan Boneh, Jen King, James Landay, Chris Manning, David Mazieres, and Chris Re. The project spans many disciplines: programming systems, natural language processing and machine learning, human-computer interaction, distributed systems, security, as well as law.
